Oh What Fun...

If you've never been to an ugly sweater event I highly recommend that you invite yourself to one. You could wait to be invited...or you could just plan one of your own like our running club did.

Yesterday morning NARC held an Ugly Sweater 5K in our town and it was a blast. Everyone looked so festive in their sweaters, Santa hats, reindeer noses, blinking earrings, bells, and matching dickeys. Mother Nature cooperated with temps in the double digits, only a slight wind, and beautifully falling snow. It was perfect for this time of year.

I had way too much fun!

Actually most of us were too warm with our extra sweater layer on.

I was surprised to learn that a lot of people were in search of ugly sweaters. The second-hand stores were picked over pretty good. I borrowed mine from my daycare provider and bought three more at the thrift store. I thought mine was kind of cute but somehow it won the "Female Ugliest Sweater" award. Mike won the "Male Ugliest Sweater" award. What an ugly couple we were!

The run was actually longer than 3.1 miles because we ran through some local businesses. Yep, right in the front door of the hardware store and out the back door. Then into the grocery store, up aisle one, down aisle two, and back out the door. At the cafe we all poked our heads in and yelled "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" We stopped at another runners house and sang a little ditty then went to the community center to enjoy treats and good company.

The best part was all the funny and cool photos. This one just might make the paper.
